    Description

This is a nice copy of Southern Pacific Daylight Train 98-99, Volume 1 by Richard K. Wright.
This is THE definitive book on the subject.
This is a 656 page, 7 pound, scholarly work about the famous “Daylight” trains that ran between Los Angeles and San Francisco.
    Over 1,000 photos and diagrams.
Train 98 was southbound (actually railroad east) and 99 was northbound (actually railroad west).
This is the 2nd Edition, 1st Printing.
    It is “Book No. 1260”.
    Condition is very good.
The dust jacket is very good except for some small tearing at the top on the part covering the spine (see photos).
Overall, the book shows some handling.
(I’m the one who handled it when doing research for providing HO scale Daylight train sets to the Central Coast Model Railroad at the San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum in California.)
Incidentally, Volume 1 was the only volume.
    I found this information online:
“Though this book has ‘Volume 1’ in the title, no other volume was written.
It was Wright’s intention to create 13 volumes about Southern Pacific named trains.
In letters to customers that purchased his first book, Wright wrote that he was well under way with Volume 2 which was going to be about the Southern Pacific Cascade Train 11-12 and would be about 528 pages, however he never finished and no other volumes were published.”
Buyer pays only actual shipping and no “handling”.
    Ship to USA only.
